Navid is a reflective and dedicated psychoanalytic psychotherapist and clinical psychologist with over seven years of clinical and mental health experience across diverse cultural and therapeutic contexts. Deeply rooted in classical and contemporary psychoanalytic theory, particularly the works of Freud and Lacan, Navid offers therapy that invites clients to engage with their unconscious processes, inner conflicts, and formative relational experiences. He provides therapeutic support in both English and Farsi (Persian), fostering a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment for deep psychological work.
Detailed Description:
Navid’s clinical approach is firmly grounded in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, with a particular emphasis on classical Freudian metapsychology and Lacanian structural theory. His work explores how unconscious processes, symbolic systems, and early attachment patterns shape a person’s internal world and external relationships. Through a sustained therapeutic alliance, Navid supports clients in uncovering latent conflicts, working through psychic defences, and giving voice to previously unformulated emotional experiences.
While psychoanalysis remains at the heart of his clinical identity, Navid also adopts an integrative perspective when clinically appropriate—drawing on Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)—to address immediate psychological needs within a coherent psychoanalytic frame.
Navid works with young adults and adults facing a wide range of psychological challenges, including complex trauma and PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, grief and loss, low self-esteem, and interpersonal or relational struggles. He has a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating identity development, emotional regulation difficulties, and existential concerns. His therapeutic stance is nonjudgmental, collaborative, and insight-oriented, offering clients a space to explore the deeper dimensions of their psychic and relational life.
Outside of the clinic, Navid is also an artist and storyteller, composing music, filmmaking, and writing for film and screen. His background in the arts complements his clinical practice, as both disciplines converge on a shared interest in narrative, symbolism, unconscious expression, and human complexity. His creative work is guided by the same values that underpin his therapeutic approach: curiosity, honesty, and a deep respect for the unknown within each individual.
